MoS Chandrasekhar to launch Nagaland’s  first Software Technology Park Centre

Nagaland will get its first software Technology Park centre on September 17.

The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Centre, Kohima will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday, informed on official update.

The Centre will be inaugurated in the presence of Advisor, Information Technology and Communications (IT&C), Science and Technology (S&T) and New and Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister IT&C, KD Vizo; and Director STPI Guwahati, Prabir Das.

According to the update by MyGov Nagaland on Twitter, the STPI Kohima Centre is an 18,137 square feet "state-of-the-art-built-up space especially for startups or entrepreneurs of the State. 

The Centre will promote information technology (IT) and information technology enabled services (ITES) exports and service from the Nagaland, it said, adding that it would create new employment opportunities for the local youth. 

The STPI Centre would attract investment and promote Nagaland as a major IT/ITES destination, the maintained.
The STPI is a premier S&T organization under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) engaged in promoting IT/ITES Industry, innovation, R&D, start-ups, product/IP creation in the field of emerging technologies like IoT, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) etc.

Since its inception in 1991, STPI has been working towards equitable and inclusive IT-led growth pan-India which in turn has helped promoting Software exports, Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) and Software product development, informed its website.

With nine jurisdictional directorates and 60 centres, STPI has expanded its presence pan-India to support IT/ITeS Industry, it added.
